
From 28 February 2025, the Support for Trafficked People Program delivered by Australian Red Cross will no longer be receiving referrals for clients who are at risk or who have experienced forced marriage.
The Australian Government has established a new forced marriage specialised program, delivered by Life Without Barriers. If you would like more information about eligibility and support available, you can visit the Life Without Barriers website.
Australian Red Cross will continue to receive referrals and support people through the Support for Trafficked People Program for issues including human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices other than forced marriage.
Our program can help you recover and rebuild your life by providing financial support, access to health and accommodation services, counselling, building community supports and more. We can also help you find other organisations and agencies that might be able to help you.

Participation in the program is voluntary and you can choose to leave at any time.
A person is in a forced marriage if they did not freely and fully consent to being married. It is illegal in Australia.
