The Uber X Australian Red Cross Clothing Drive is back on Saturday 19 October!
Between 10am - 4pm on Saturday 19 October, you can book a free Uber Package pickup via the Uber app to collect your pre-loved, quality clothes from your doorstep, for donation to Australian Red Cross Shops. Available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Why donate?
Our shops urgently need high-quality clothing and accessories to sell. Funds raised help us support people facing vulnerability, here in Australia and further afield. Together, we can make a real difference in someone's life during hardship, disaster, crisis or isolation.
What to donate?
Australian Red Cross Shops need quality, saleable clothing and accessories. As a guide, if it’s something you’d feel great about giving to a friend, then it’s perfect to donate! Need inspo?
YES: Quality, vintage, retro or designer pieces.
NO THANKS: Poor quality, damaged, dirty or stained clothing. Homewares, electronics and other household items.
The better the quality of the items donated, the greater the amount of funds raised to support people in need.How to donate
It’s easy! Firstly, give your wardrobe a good Spring clean out! Gather your quality pre-loved items into a bag or box, no heavier than 20kg, so it can comfortably sit in the boot of a midsize car. Then:
- Open the Uber app
- Scroll to the Red Cross Clothing Drive image, and tap
- You should see 'Red Cross Clothing Drive’ set as the drop-off spot
- If you're in an eligible city the Red Cross Clothing Drive promotion should automatically apply, so check that the trip is showing as a $0 amount
- Confirm!
Having issues or can't see the tile? Head to > Package > type in 'Red Cross Shop' > Pick the first option shown > Confirm
Keep an eye on the app and meet the delivery person picking up your donation at the door, or kerbside if you can.
